Who might be able to join this trial:

  • Be between 18 and 70 years old
  • Have not received any treatment before surgery, such as radiation therapy, chemotherapy, targeted therapy, or immunotherapy
  • Have been diagnosed through a tissue biopsy with a specific type of esophageal cancer (squamous cell carcinoma) in the chest area, where the cancer has also spread to nearby lymph nodes but not to distant parts of the body

Who may not be able to join:

  • Have had, or currently have, any other type of cancer
  • Have a lung condition involving scarring or inflammation of the lung tissue
  • Need to regularly take steroid medications or other medicines that suppress the immune system
  • Have a known or suspected allergy to chemotherapy drugs or to the study drug Tislelizumab
  • Have an active condition where the immune system attacks the body (such as lupus or rheumatoid arthritis)
  • Currently have active hepatitis (liver infection)
  • Have been assessed by the study doctor as not suitable to take part, for any reason (confirm with trial site)
