  • You have had your first stroke at least 6 months ago
  • You score 24 or higher on a standard memory and thinking test called the Mini-Mental State Examination
  • The stiffness or tightness in your ankle muscles is mild to moderate (confirmed by a medical assessment scale)
  • You are able to sit up on your own for at least 30 minutes
  • Your limb movement and motor recovery is at a certain level or above (assessed using a scale called the Brunnstrom stage, level 3 or higher)
  • You are between 20 and 80 years old

Who may not be able to join:

  • You have difficulty speaking or communicating
  • You have a hearing problem or hearing loss
  • You have a vision problem or visual impairment
  • You have another bone, joint, or nerve condition in addition to your stroke
  • You have a complete loss of feeling or sensation in your body
  • You have a pacemaker or any metal implants in your body
