Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are 18 years old or older
- You have been diagnosed with ALS (also known as Lou Gehrig's disease), confirmed using a standard set of medical guidelines called the "revised El Escorial criteria"
- You have breathing difficulties caused by weakness in your diaphragm (the main breathing muscle), and you have been using a non-invasive breathing support machine (such as a CPAP or BiPAP) for more than one month

- You experience persistent shortness of breath at rest, rated 3 or higher on a scale of 0 to 10, while sitting in a semi-upright position

- You are willing and able to give written consent to take part in the study
- You are covered by the French national health insurance system (Social Security)
Who may not be able to join:
- You have been diagnosed with a neurological condition (such as dementia, Alzheimer's disease, a brain tumour, stroke, or Parkinson's disease), confirmed by a neurological assessment done within the last year
- You have been diagnosed with a serious mental health condition (such as severe depression or psychosis), or you are currently taking antipsychotic medication
- You have a fear of heights (acrophobia)
- You have a fear of enclosed spaces (claustrophobia)
- You have a sensitivity or aversion to light (photophobia)
- You have significant hearing loss
- You have significant problems with your vision
- You are under a legal guardianship or curatorship arrangement (meaning someone else has been appointed to make decisions on your behalf)
