Who might be able to join this trial:

Who may not be able to join:

  • People whose kidneys are functioning at a significantly reduced level (a specific blood test result below 30 ml/min/1.73m²)
  • People whose arm size is too large to get an accurate blood pressure reading with the devices used in the study
  • People for whom blood pressure cannot be accurately measured in either arm — for example, due to swelling in both arms from lymphedema
  • People who have had a recent heart attack (within the past 3 months), severe heart failure symptoms, a history of stroke, or a heart transplant
  • People who have another medical condition that the study doctor believes would prevent them from safely participating or following the study plan
  • (For the CPET cohort only): People who have certain serious heart or lung conditions that make exercise testing unsafe, including but not limited to: a very recent heart attack, unstable chest pain, uncontrolled abnormal heart rhythms, severe heart valve problems, repeated fainting episodes, active heart or lung infections, a recent blood clot in the lungs or legs, a suspected tear in a major blood vessel, uncontrolled asthma, fluid in the lungs, very low oxygen levels at rest, breathing failure, a recent illness or condition that could be made worse by exercise, or a mental condition that makes it difficult to follow instructions during testing
