Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are male and at least 18 years old
- You have been diagnosed with low-risk or "favorable intermediate-risk" prostate cancer (a specific, less aggressive form of prostate cancer)
- Your cancer is at an early stage, has not spread widely in the prostate, and your PSA (a prostate cancer blood marker) is below 20
- Your cancer has a Gleason score of 6 or 7 (3+4), which measures how aggressive the cancer cells look under a microscope
- Your prostate gland is smaller than 60cc in size (this may be achieved after hormone therapy to shrink it)
- Your urinary symptom score is below 15, measured without the help of certain bladder or prostate medications (confirm with trial site)
Who may not be able to join:
- Your prostate cancer is classified as "unfavorable intermediate-risk" or higher (more advanced or aggressive)
- You have a chronic inflammatory bowel condition, such as Crohn's disease, IBD, Sarcoidosis, or a rheumatic disease
- You take long-term medications that suppress your immune system
- You have a medical reason why a hydrogel spacer (a gel placed near the prostate during treatment) cannot be used (confirm with trial site)
- You have a reason why you cannot have a prostate MRI scan, such as certain metal implants
- You have had any previous treatment for prostate cancer
- You have had radiation therapy to your pelvic area in the past
- You had a surgical procedure called TURP (removal of prostate tissue through the urethra) within the last 12 months
- You have a hip replacement (prosthesis)
- You have previously used hormone therapy (androgen deprivation therapy) to treat prostate cancer
