Who might be able to join this trial:

• You can be a man or a woman
• You have been diagnosed with peripheral artery disease (PAD) in your legs caused by narrowed or blocked arteries
• You experience leg pain or cramping when walking, at a mild to moderate level (your doctor can confirm where you fall on this scale)
• Your primary care doctor or vascular doctor has given you medical clearance to participate
• You are able to walk at least one city block
• You are currently not very physically active, meaning you exercise less than 150 minutes per week
• You have access to a phone and/or email and the internet
• You are able to understand and sign a consent form agreeing to take part

Who may not be able to join:

• You have a life expectancy of less than six months
• You have another health condition that severely limits your ability to walk, such as being wheelchair-bound
• You currently live in a nursing home
• You have recently joined an exercise program or are already exercising 150 minutes or more per week
• You are scheduled to have a procedure to restore blood flow to your legs, or an amputation, within the next two months
• You have had a heart attack, stroke, mini-stroke, chest pain episode, or heart procedure within the last three months
• You have an unstable heart condition, such as severe heart valve disease, significant heart failure, untreated complex heart defects, or serious irregular heart rhythms
• You are currently struggling with substance abuse
• You have a psychiatric condition that would make it difficult to follow the study's instructions
• You are pregnant
• You are unable to speak and read English
