Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are able to understand and are willing to sign a consent form before any study procedures begin.
- People who have been diagnosed with prostate cancer that has spread to other parts of the body (metastatic prostate cancer).
- People who are aged 18 or older.
- People who have been on hormone-reducing treatment (with or without additional hormone-blocking medication) for at least one month, and who are expected to stay on that treatment for at least another 4 months.
- People who are considered "pre-frail" or "frail" based on a specific health screening tool called the FRAIL scale, which measures things like fatigue, physical ability, and weight loss.
- People who have received clearance from their doctor to take part in exercise.
- People who speak English.
- People who have done fewer than 2 structured resistance or strength-based exercise sessions per week over the past 4 months.
- People who have done 60 minutes or less of moderate-to-vigorous aerobic exercise per week over the past month.
- People who are willing and able to travel to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute for exercise sessions and data collection.
Who may not be able to join:
- People who are currently receiving chemotherapy.
- People who have unstable bone lesions (areas of bone affected by cancer that are at higher risk of fracture).
- People who have already been doing 2 or more structured resistance exercise sessions per week over the past 4 months, and more than 60 minutes of moderate-to-vigorous aerobic exercise per week over the past month.
- People who have other health conditions that are currently unstable and that would prevent them from safely taking part in moderate-to-vigorous exercise.
- People who are currently being treated for another active cancer (except for a common, low-risk skin cancer called basal cell carcinoma).
- People who, in the opinion of the study investigators, may not be able to safely follow the monitoring requirements of the study.
