Who might be able to join this trial:
- You must be a woman
- You must be older than 15 years and 3 months
- You must be admitted to the eating disorders specialist unit at CHU Nantes hospital for a refeeding programme
- You must have been diagnosed with anorexia nervosa (either the restrictive type or the binge-eating/purging type) at the time of admission
- Your Body Mass Index (BMI) must be below 16 at the time of admission
- If you are 18 or older, you must be able to give written consent to take part; if you are under 18, both you and your legal guardian must give consent
- You must be covered by, or a dependent of someone covered by, the French social security system
Who may not be able to join:
- You are currently pregnant or breastfeeding
- You have taken antibiotic or antifungal medication (not including creams or other products applied to the skin) in the last three months
- You have gained 5% or more of your admission body weight in the month before joining the trial
- You are under a legal protection order such as trusteeship or guardianship (confirm with trial site)
- You are not fluent in French
- You are already taking part in another clinical trial that involves a medication or treatment
- It would not be possible to collect a stool sample or complete a body composition scan (a type of low-dose X-ray called a DEXA scan) within your first week in hospital
