Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are between 18 and 80 years old (male or female)
- You have been diagnosed with a specific type of high blood pressure in the lungs called WHO Group 1 Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension
- Your symptoms fall into a moderate to severe category based on how much your condition limits your daily activities (confirm with trial site)
- You have had a special heart test (a tube inserted near the heart to measure pressures) within the last five years showing certain elevated pressure and resistance readings in your lung blood vessels
- You may also qualify if your heart test showed slightly different pressure readings, but only if your resistance level is high enough and you are already being treated for pulmonary arterial hypertension (confirm with trial site)
- You are able to walk at least 50 meters (roughly half a football field) with or without a walking aid
Who may not be able to join:
- You are currently pregnant or breastfeeding
- Your lung high blood pressure is caused by something other than WHO Group 1, or you have a condition called veno-occlusive disease
- You have a history of scarring or inflammation of the lungs (interstitial lung disease), unless you have a connective tissue disease and recent lung function tests show your lung capacity is at least 60%
- You have taken part in, or plan to take part in, another clinical trial or use an experimental treatment within 30 days of joining or during this study
- You have taken certain blood pressure medications called ACE-inhibitors, ARBs, or ARNIs within 30 days of being assigned to a treatment group
- You have a weakened left side of the heart, where the heart is pumping less than 40% of its normal capacity
- You have any other serious illness or abnormal blood test results that the study doctor believes could put you at risk or affect the study results
- Your doctors expect you may not survive longer than one year due to another serious illness
- You have had a severe allergic reaction or dangerous swelling (angioedema) caused by ACE-inhibitor medications
- Your blood potassium levels or kidney function values are above certain limits at your screening appointment (confirm specific values with trial site)
- Your resting blood pressure is below 90 mmHg (considered low blood pressure) at your screening appointment
