Who might be able to join this trial:

• People who are 18 years of age or older
• People who have weakness or reduced movement in their upper arm following a stroke on one side of the body, confirmed by an MRI or CT scan
• People who are between two weeks and six months past the date of their stroke
• People whose upper arm weakness falls above a certain level on a standard medical scale used to measure muscle strength (called the MRC scale) (confirm with trial site)

Who may not be able to join:

• People who have neurological or bone/joint problems that would get in the way of doing arm exercises
• People who have a health condition that makes it unsafe for them to have an MRI scan or a type of brain stimulation called Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS)
• People who have a skin condition that would interfere with a device used to stimulate muscles through the skin
• People who have an electronic device implanted under the skin (such as a pacemaker)
• People who have nerve damage in their arms or legs (a condition called peripheral neuropathy)
• People who have epilepsy
• People who are pregnant
• People who have significant difficulties with thinking, memory, or understanding language, as identified during a neurological assessment
