Who might be able to join this trial:

• You are 18 years of age or older.
• Your breast cancer diagnosis has been confirmed through a tissue sample (biopsy).
• You have metastatic breast cancer that responded well to your first round of systemic treatment (such as chemotherapy or hormone therapy) for at least 12 months, and now 1 to 3 areas outside the brain are showing signs of growth, while you plan to continue your current treatment.
• OR, you have metastatic breast cancer that responded well to a second (or later) round of systemic treatment for at least 6 months, and now 1 to 3 areas outside the brain are showing signs of growth.
• Your general health and ability to carry out daily activities meets a certain standard, meaning you are reasonably active and able to care for yourself (confirm with trial site).
• If you are a woman who could become pregnant, you have had a negative pregnancy test within 7 days before joining the trial.
• You are able to fill out questionnaires yourself or with help from someone else.
• You are willing and able to sign a consent form agreeing to take part.
• You are willing to return to the trial location for follow-up visits during the study.
• You are willing to provide blood samples for research purposes.
• You will be receiving radiation therapy as outlined by the trial's guidelines.

Who may not be able to join:

• You are male.
• You are currently pregnant or breastfeeding.
• You are of childbearing potential but are not willing to use adequate birth control during the trial.
• Your breast cancer is "triple negative" (meaning it tests negative for ER, PR, and HER2 receptors).
• You currently have another active cancer.
• You have more than 3 areas outside the brain where your cancer is growing.
• You have active, unstable cancer in the brain or central nervous system — though if your brain lesions have been treated, are stable, and you have not needed steroid medications for at least 4 weeks, you may still be eligible (confirm with trial site).
• You have an active connective tissue disease (such as lupus or scleroderma) that your medical team believes could put you at higher risk of serious side effects from treatment.
• You have had previous radiation treatment in an area that overlaps with where new radiation would be needed, and your radiation doctor does not consider it safe to treat those areas again.
