Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged 20 or older
- People who have been diagnosed with a stroke
- People whose stroke occurred at least 6 months ago
- People whose affected arm has a moderate level of movement and muscle control, rated at stage III, IV, or V on a scale called the Brunnstrom scale (confirm with trial site)
- People whose affected arm does not have severe muscle stiffness or tightness, based on a standard clinical rating scale (confirm with trial site)
- People who have noticed, or whose therapist has identified, a problem with their sense of touch or body awareness in the affected limb
Who may not be able to join:
- People with significant difficulties in thinking, memory, or understanding, based on a standard cognitive assessment score below 20 (confirm with trial site)
- People with serious mental health conditions, such as schizophrenia or major depression
- People with a history of substance abuse or alcoholism
- People who experience severe anxiety in enclosed spaces (claustrophobia)
- People with serious difficulty understanding language or communicating clearly due to their stroke, which would affect their ability to describe sensations
- People who have difficulty noticing or paying attention to one side of their body or surroundings (a condition called hemineglect)
- People who have other muscle or joint conditions affecting their arm, such as joint contractures, rheumatoid arthritis, or bone changes in the muscle
- People who are currently taking part in another clinical study involving touch, sensation, or movement therapy

Pre- and 3-month change in cerebral hemodynamics evaluated by functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS); Pre- and 3-month change in functional ability of the upper extremities assessed by Action Research Arm Test (ARAT); Pre- and 3-month change in motor function of the upper limbs assessed by Fugl-Meyer Assessment of Upper Extremity (FMA-UE); Pre- and 3-month change in sensation assessed by Revised Nottingham Sensory Assessment (rNSA); Pre- and 3-month change in sensation assessed by Rivermead Assessment of Somatosensory Performance (RASP)
