Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged 50 years or older
- People of Asian ethnicity
- People who have been newly diagnosed with one of these conditions: stroke, traumatic brain injury (a brain injury caused by a physical impact), knee osteoarthritis (wear-and-tear joint disease in the knee), or breast cancer
- People who are living in their own home or community (not in a nursing home)
- People who are able to follow simple one-step instructions
- For people currently admitted to hospital: those who are within 12 weeks of their stroke or brain injury, and within 2 weeks of being admitted to a rehabilitation ward
- For people being seen as outpatients: those who are more than 6 months on from their first diagnosis, and who are able to walk with at least some standby help, or independently, with or without a walking aid
Who may not be able to join:
- People living in a nursing home or dormitory
- People who are not permanent residents of Singapore (for example, foreign workers, tourists, or those on a temporary visit pass)
- People with conditions that would make it difficult to understand questionnaires or complete tasks — for example, severe hearing loss, severe vision impairment, or severe difficulty with speech and language
- People with active bone fractures, dislocations, wounds that have not healed, burns, active skin infections or eczema, or those who are not permitted to put weight through a limb
- People who are in a confused or highly agitated state (delirium)
- People with a life expectancy of less than one year
- People who require a tracheostomy (a breathing tube in the throat), a ventilator (breathing machine), kidney dialysis, or who have end-stage organ failure
- People who have a disorder of consciousness (confirm with trial site)
- People who are pregnant or breastfeeding
- For knee osteoarthritis patients only: People whose knee pain appears to come from the hip or spine rather than the knee itself
- For knee osteoarthritis patients only: People whose knee arthritis is caused by inflammation or a previous injury, rather than general wear and tear
- For knee osteoarthritis patients only: People who have previously had a knee replacement
