Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have been diagnosed with a condition called axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA) and meet the standard classification guidelines for this condition.
- You have had back pain symptoms for 2 years or less, fitting the definition of "early" axial spondyloarthritis.
- Your disease is currently active, meaning your back pain and disease activity scores are above a certain level (as measured by a standard questionnaire called BASDAI), AND there are signs of inflammation visible on an MRI scan of your lower back/pelvis joints AND/OR your blood tests show raised inflammation levels.
Who may not be able to join:
- You currently have an active infection, or you have had a serious infection within the last 3 months.
- You have a history of repeated Herpes zoster (shingles) infections or a severe widespread Herpes simplex infection.
- You have a condition that weakens your immune system.
- You have a long-term (chronic) Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, or HIV infection.
- You are pregnant or currently breastfeeding, or you are a woman who is not willing or able to use a reliable form of contraception during the trial.
- You have another serious illness that could interfere with taking part in a clinical study, or you have a reason why you cannot have an MRI scan (confirm with trial site).
