Who might be able to join this trial:

• People who have had their first-ever stroke between 2 weeks and 2 years ago, which has left one side of the body weakened or paralysed.
• People who are able to understand and follow simple instructions.

• People who are not yet fully conscious or alert.
• People who have a psychiatric (mental health) disorder, or who have developed mental health or behavioural changes as a result of their stroke.
• People whose thinking or behaviour difficulties would prevent them from understanding or completing the trial tasks.
• People with severe difficulty speaking or understanding language (aphasia) that would prevent them from following the researchers' instructions.
• People with serious heart or lung conditions, or any other significant internal medical condition that could put their safety at risk.
• People who require complete bed rest due to a serious illness.
• People who have a shoulder joint condition that would prevent them from doing exercise therapy.
• People with severe osteoporosis where physical activity raises concerns about the risk of fractures.
• People who have an irregular heartbeat (arrhythmia) and have a pacemaker implanted.
• People with severe seizures that have not been able to be controlled through medication, physical therapy, botulinum toxin injections, or nerve block procedures.
