Who might be able to join this trial:

• You have been diagnosed with Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD) — a condition affecting blood flow to the legs — and have symptoms such as leg pain when walking
• A test measuring blood flow in your legs (called an ABPI test) shows reduced circulation in at least one leg
• Your leg pain when walking has been stable and unchanged for at least 3 months
• Your ability to walk is mainly limited by leg pain or cramping (claudication), not other health problems
• You are able to read and speak English well enough to take part in the study activities
• You are able to give your written agreement to take part in the trial

Who may not be able to join:

• You are already planning to have surgery or a procedure to treat your PAD in the next 3 months
• Your condition has reached a severe stage where you have pain in your legs even at rest (confirm with trial site)
• You have a health condition that means it would not be safe for you to do exercise testing or training
• You have previously used TENS (a device that sends small electrical pulses through the skin) to treat your PAD
• You have a reason why you cannot use a TENS device — for example, epilepsy, a skin condition, or a pacemaker — or you are unable to use the TENS device on your own
• You need walking aids such as walking sticks, frames, or artificial limbs
• You have had major surgery, a heart attack, or a stroke in the last 6 months
• You have another health condition that causes pain or limits your walking more than your leg pain does (for example, severe arthritis or a breathing condition)
• You have significant nerve damage in your legs below the knee (confirm with trial site)
• You are currently taking part in another research study
