Who might be able to join this trial:
- People diagnosed with low-risk or "favorable intermediate-risk" prostate cancer, based on standard cancer risk guidelines
- People whose prostate gland is smaller than 80cc in size
- People with a urinary symptom score (IPSS) below 20, meaning relatively mild to moderate urinary symptoms
- People whose urine flow rate is above 10cc per second and who have less than 150ml of urine remaining in the bladder after urinating
- People who have not had a TURP (a surgical procedure to remove prostate tissue through the urethra)
- People who have not had a hip replacement
- People who have not had previous radiation treatment to the pelvic area
- People who do not have another active cancer diagnosis in the past 2 years, except for certain common skin cancers (squamous cell carcinoma or basal cell carcinoma)
- People with no history of inflammatory bowel disease
- People without other serious health conditions that would make it difficult to complete the treatment
- People who are able to give informed consent to participate
Who may not be able to join:
- People whose prostate cancer has spread beyond the prostate (classified as T3a or higher stage)
- People whose cancer biopsy results show a Gleason score of 4+3=7, indicating a more aggressive cancer pattern
- People with a PSA (a prostate-related blood marker) level above 20ng/ml
