Who might be able to join this trial:

• People of any gender who have had either a stroke caused by a blocked blood vessel or a stroke caused by bleeding in the brain
• The stroke must have occurred between 7 and 14 days before joining the trial
• People who were living independently and managing daily life on their own before the stroke occurred
• People who have some weakness in one or both arms, one or both legs, or both, but still retain a basic level of movement (based on a standard stroke assessment score)
• People who are able to sit and stand with some control of their trunk (core body balance)
• People who can understand simple instructions and are able to make their own decision about whether to sign a consent form

Who may not be able to join:

• People with significant difficulty understanding or using language (aphasia) that would prevent them from following the required tasks
• People with cognitive difficulties (problems with thinking or memory) that would prevent them from cooperating with tasks
• People with serious behavioural problems or mental health conditions
• People who have a blood clot in a leg vein, paralysis in all four limbs, a degenerative nerve or muscle disease, a broken bone in the leg, or a recent heart attack
• People with failure of a major organ such as the heart, lungs, liver, or kidneys, or who have a malignant tumour or another serious unstable health condition
• People with a history of previous stroke or other blood vessel disease affecting the brain, unless it has fully resolved
• People who have a form of epilepsy triggered by flashing or flickering lights
