Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People who are currently living at the VA Greater Los Angeles Mental Health Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program (also called the Domiciliary)
  • People between the ages of 18 and 65
  • People who have been diagnosed with a psychotic illness (either one linked to mood disorders or one that is not), as confirmed by their medical records
  • People who have experienced homelessness at some point in their past
  • People who are comfortable enough with English to give their agreement to participate, understand what is involved, and complete the activities and assessments
  • People who are in a stable enough condition, both physically and mentally, to take part in and finish the study activities

Who may not be able to join:

  • People who have a history of a significant neurological condition (such as epilepsy), as shown in their medical history
  • People who have had a serious head injury in the past — for example, one that caused loss of consciousness for more than one hour, lasting effects on thinking or brain function, or required cognitive rehabilitation
  • People whose records suggest an IQ below 70 or who have a developmental disability
  • People whose medical records show moderate or severe problems with substance use within the past month
