Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are already registered in the Joint Academy database and have previously taken part in the Joint Academy treatment program for osteoarthritis (a joint condition causing pain and stiffness), and who agreed to have their data used for research.
- People who have been diagnosed with hip or knee osteoarthritis by a doctor or physiotherapist, either through imaging (such as an X-ray) or through a clinical assessment.
- People without a prior diagnosis who had osteoarthritis confirmed by an orthopaedic specialist or physiotherapist over the phone, following recognised clinical guidelines, and with no serious warning signs of another condition.
- People who joined the program from October 1st 2021 onward must have had a physical examination by a doctor or physiotherapist before starting the treatment program.
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have not participated in the Joint Academy treatment program for osteoarthritis.
- People who did not give consent for their data to be used in research.
- People who showed signs of a serious underlying condition (referred to as "red flag symptoms") at the time of assessment, unless they were first seen in person by a healthcare provider and cleared for inclusion (confirm with trial site).
