Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are at least 21 years old and have been diagnosed with a type of peripheral T-cell lymphoma (PTCL) confirmed by a tissue or cell test, including specific subtypes such as AITL, ALCL, NK/T-cell lymphoma, and others
- Your cancer has gotten worse after at least one previous cancer treatment, which may include a type of immunotherapy drug called an anti-PD-1/PD-L1 treatment
- If you received anti-PD-1/PD-L1 immunotherapy, your disease must have progressed within 12 weeks of your last dose, confirmed by at least two assessments at least 4 weeks apart
- You have disease that can be measured on scans, based on standard medical criteria
- You are able to provide a tumor tissue sample, either from a previous biopsy or a new one
- You are generally able to carry out daily activities with little or no restriction (this is measured by a standard scale called ECOG, scored 0 or 1)
- Your blood tests show that your organs (such as kidneys, liver, and bone marrow) are working at an acceptable level
- If you have or have had Hepatitis B, you have been on antiviral treatment for at least 4 weeks and the virus is undetectable in your blood
- If you have had Hepatitis C, you have completed curative antiviral treatment at least 4 weeks before joining and the virus is undetectable
- Your doctor expects you to live for at least 3 months
- If you are a man, you agree to use contraception during treatment and for at least 180 days after your last dose, and agree not to donate sperm during this time
- If you are a woman who could become pregnant, you are not currently pregnant or breastfeeding, and you agree to use contraception during treatment and for the required period after your last dose
Who may not be able to join:
- You are a woman who could become pregnant and have a positive pregnancy test within 72 hours before starting treatment
- You have taken part in another clinical trial or used an experimental treatment or device within the past 4 weeks (or less, depending on the type of drug)
- You have had radiotherapy within 2 weeks before starting the trial, or are still experiencing side effects from radiation that require steroid medication
- You have received a live or live-weakened vaccine within 30 days before starting treatment
- You have a condition that weakens your immune system, or you are taking steroid medication at doses higher than 10 mg of prednisone per day (or equivalent), or any other immune-suppressing medication within 7 days before starting treatment
- You have another cancer that is currently active or has needed treatment within the past 3 years (some early-stage skin cancers that have been fully treated may be exceptions — confirm with trial site)
- You have active cancer that has spread to the brain or the lining around the brain, unless it was previously treated, has been stable for at least 4 weeks, and you have not needed steroids for at least 14 days
- You have had a severe allergic reaction (Grade 3 or higher) to pembrolizumab or any of its ingredients
- You have an autoimmune disease that has needed medical treatment in the past 2 years (simple hormone replacement, such as thyroid medication or insulin, may be acceptable — confirm with trial site)
- You have a history of, or currently have, a serious lung condition called pneumonitis or interstitial lung disease that required steroid treatment
- You currently have an active infection that requires treatment with medication given throughout the body (such as intravenous antibiotics)
- You have a known history of HIV infection
- You currently have both active Hepatitis B and active Hepatitis C at the same time
- You have not fully recovered from a major surgery, or you still have complications from a recent surgery
- You have a mental health condition or substance use problem that would make it difficult to follow the trial's requirements
- You are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant or father a child during the study period and up to 180 days after the last dose of treatment
- You have previously received an organ or tissue transplant from another person
