Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You have been diagnosed with dry age-related macular degeneration (AMD) with at least one large deposit (called a drusen) in your eye, larger than a specific size (125 microns) as defined by a major eye health study.
  • You are able to undergo certain eye imaging and vision tests, including two types of eye scans (OCT and OCT angiography) and a standard vision test.
  • You are between 50 and 85 years old.
  • You have previously taken blood-thinning medications known as antiplatelet drugs (such as aspirin or clopidogrel).

Who may not be able to join:

  • You have an advanced form of AMD, such as geographic atrophy (significant loss of cells in the back of the eye) or abnormal blood vessel growth in the eye (choroidal neovascularization).
  • You have another eye condition affecting your vision, such as a detached retina or diabetes-related swelling in the eye (diabetic macular edema).
  • You have previously had injections into the eye (anti-VEGF injections) or laser treatment on the central part of your eye (macula).
  • You are currently taking certain medications, including antidepressants (SSRIs or SNRIs), antifungal medications (azoles), anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), two antiplatelet drugs at the same time, or blood thinners (anticoagulants).
