Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have had a stroke within the last year
- People who have some ability to walk, either with help or more independently, based on a walking ability assessment scale (scored 2–5 on the Functional Ambulation Classification)
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have had more than one stroke
- People who have a condition called "neglect," where the brain has difficulty paying attention to one side of the body or surroundings after a stroke
- People who have difficulty thinking or understanding, such as being unable to follow simple spoken instructions
- People with severe hearing problems
- People with severe vision problems
- People with bone, joint, or muscle conditions that affect physical movement, such as amputation, very limited joint movement, or nerve damage in the limbs
- People with high blood pressure or diabetes that is not well controlled
- People with a diagnosed lung condition that causes symptoms, such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), or emphysema
- People with a diagnosed heart condition that causes symptoms, such as blocked arteries, irregular heartbeat, or heart failure
- People with reduced blood flow in the arteries of the legs or arms (peripheral artery disease)
