Who might be able to join this trial:
For people with COPD:
- People who have been diagnosed with Group C or D COPD based on the GOLD staging system (a standard system doctors use to classify how severe COPD is)
- People who have been taking the same COPD medications without any changes for at least the past 4 weeks
- People who do not have any additional conditions affecting the bones and joints, nervous system, or heart
For healthy participants:
- People who are over 18 years of age

Who may not be able to join:
- People who have a lung or breathing condition other than COPD
- People who have had a sudden worsening of their COPD symptoms (called an exacerbation) within the last 4 weeks
- People whose COPD symptoms worsen significantly during the study itself
- People who have a layer of fatty tissue at the specific body areas where measurements will be taken, as this could affect the accuracy of results
- People who have taken part in another clinical trial within the last 30 days that could influence this study's results
