Who might be able to join this trial:
For people who have had a stroke:
- People between 20 and 79 years old
- People who score 26 or higher on a standard memory and thinking test called the Montreal Cognitive Assessment
- People who have had a stroke affecting one side of the body, either from bleeding in the brain or a blocked blood vessel
- People whose arm and hand movement has been affected by the stroke
For people with a spinal cord injury:
- People between 20 and 65 years old
- People who score 25 or higher on a standard memory and thinking test called the Mini-Mental Status Examination
- People diagnosed with an incomplete spinal cord injury at a specific level of the neck (C5 or C6), meaning some function below the injury remains (confirm with trial site)
Who may not be able to join:
For people who have had a stroke:
- People who have had surgery on their shoulder, elbow, or wrist
- People experiencing severe pain in their arm or hand
- People who have another muscle or nerve condition that affects how they move
