Who might be able to join this trial:

• Young people between the ages of 12 and 18 years old, along with their parents or caregivers

Who may not be able to join:

• Parents or young people who do not speak French, or who are unable to read or write
• Young people who have already been seen by an eating disorder specialist in the past 12 months (at this clinic or anywhere else), or who have previously been admitted to hospital for anorexia nervosa
• Young people who have previously received family therapy at any point
• Young people whose body weight is too low — specifically, those under 14 years old with a BMI below 13, or those 14 and older with a BMI below 14, at the time of their first assessment (confirm with trial site)
• Young people who have a serious mental health condition or a physical health condition that affects eating or how the body regulates food (confirm with trial site)
• Young people and families whose situation is considered an emergency requiring immediate hospital admission
