Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged 18 or older
- People who have had an ischemic stroke (the type caused by a blocked blood vessel, not a bleed)
- People who are between 3 weeks and 60 months (5 years) past their stroke
- People whose arm function falls within a specific range on a test called the Action Research Arm Test, with a score between 12 and 49 or 57 (confirm with trial site)
- People who are able to understand instructions and give their consent to participate

Who may not be able to join:
- People who have had a hemorrhagic stroke (the type caused by bleeding in the brain)
- People who have no movement at all in the affected arm
- People who are unable to move their thumb and at least one finger — note that loss of sensation or body awareness (proprioception) in the arm does not prevent participation
- People who are unable to give their own consent to participate
- People who are currently receiving music therapy
- People who are left-hand dominant
- People who use both hands equally (ambidextrous)
- People who are not registered with a GP, as the trial requires GP details in case anything unexpected is found during the brain activity (EEG) recordings
