Who might be able to join this trial:

  • Men between 18 and 75 years of age
  • People who have had a prostate biopsy within the last 6 months that confirmed prostate cancer that has not spread beyond the prostate, with a cancer stage of T1c to T2b, N0M0

Who may not be able to join:

  • People whose cancer is high-risk or has spread beyond the prostate (stage T2c or higher, Gleason Score of 8 or above, or PSA above 20 ng/ml)
  • People with a special or rare type of prostate cancer, such as neuroendocrine cancer
  • People who have had previous abdominal surgery or radiation therapy that could affect the surgical approach used in this trial
  • People who have recently had surgery on the rectum, an abscess near the anus, a fistula in that area, or surgery in the perineal region
  • People who have previously had a procedure to remove or reduce the prostate using electrical instruments
  • People who have been treated for prostate cancer and have had less than 12 months of follow-up since that treatment (confirm with trial site)
  • People with an ECOG performance score above 1, meaning those whose daily functioning is significantly limited by their health (confirm with trial site)
  • People who have another cancer elsewhere in the body at the same time
  • People who have already received any treatment aimed at fighting the cancer before this trial
  • People with serious existing health conditions, including severe mental health disorders, heart or blood vessel disease, active infections, a bone marrow transplant within the past 3 months, or significantly poor organ function
  • People who are currently taking part in another clinical trial or who have received any gene therapy in the past 3 months
  • People who, in the researchers' judgement, have other circumstances that could affect the trial results or raise ethical concerns
