Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You are aged 18 or older, either male or female
  • You have been diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS, also known as Motor Neurone Disease)
  • You are experiencing, or beginning to experience, problems related to speaking, excessive saliva, or difficulty swallowing, as identified by your care team
  • You have either never used an INEX therapy device but have been prescribed one, or you are already using one (confirm with trial site)
  • You are currently being cared for by the ALS mobile team at either the Groupe Hospitalier du Havre or the CHU of Dijon in France
  • Your healthcare team has determined that how quickly your condition is progressing is suitable for joining this study
  • You are willing to take part in the research after being fully informed about it
  • You are covered by French social security or an equivalent scheme

Who may not be able to join:

  • You currently have an active infection, or you had a respiratory infection less than one month ago
  • You have a mental health condition that would interfere with using the device correctly
  • You have a history of laryngospasm (sudden, involuntary throat muscle spasms that briefly block breathing)
  • You are unable to attend in-person appointments with the ALS team at either of the named hospitals
  • You are pregnant
  • You are currently under a legal protection order, such as guardianship or curatorship, or are deprived of liberty by a legal or administrative decision
  • You meet any reason for not being included that appears after joining the study (confirm with trial site)
  • You choose to withdraw your participation after joining
  • You have passed away from any cause (confirm with trial site)
