Who might be able to join this trial:
- Adults aged 18 or older
- People who have been diagnosed with primary hip osteoarthritis (wear and tear of the hip joint) at any stage
- People attending the orthopaedic department at a participating hospital, either in preparation for hip replacement surgery or for a consultation only
- People who have signed a written consent form agreeing to take part
- People who are enrolled in a social security (health insurance) scheme
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have painful or disabling problems with the opposite hip or knee
- People who have painful knee osteoarthritis or a knee replacement on the same side as the affected hip
- People who have previously had surgery on the hip that is being studied
- People who have had a fracture in the leg or foot within the past year
- People who have had a sprain in the leg within the past 3 months
- People who have a neurological condition or a degenerative disease
- People who are pregnant or breastfeeding
- People who are under legal guardianship, curatorship, or a court protection order
- People who have a cognitive impairment that would make it impossible to understand and follow the trial
- People whose hip surgery would be performed using a surgical approach other than the Moore posterolateral technique (confirm with trial site)
