Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You are a woman who has recently been diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer and have not yet started any treatment for it.
  • Your cancer is at stage I, II, or III, or it has come back in the same local area and you have not had chemotherapy before.
  • You are under 60 years old.
  • You have a regular, natural menstrual cycle.
  • Your doctors have planned for you to receive chemotherapy before surgery (called neoadjuvant treatment), with or without immunotherapy, targeted therapy, or hormone therapy.
  • You have not received any systemic treatment (such as chemotherapy, hormone therapy, or targeted therapy) for your current cancer diagnosis.
  • You are willing and able to sign a consent form agreeing to take part in the study.

Who may not be able to join:

  • You are currently using hormonal contraception, or have used it in the six weeks before starting breast cancer treatment — this includes the contraceptive pill, a hormonal coil (such as a Mirena IUD), a vaginal ring (NuvaRing), an implant (Implanon), or hormonal injections.
  • You are currently pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have recently stopped hormonal contraception or breastfeeding, you have not yet had at least 2 normal menstrual periods since stopping.
  • You are currently receiving ovarian function suppression to protect your fertility.
  • You currently have another active cancer.
  • You are going through an IVF process to freeze your eggs before starting breast cancer treatment.
