- People who have been diagnosed with COPD, classified in groups A, B, or E according to a standard medical assessment system called GOLD

Who may not be able to join:

- People who have had a COPD flare-up or worsening of symptoms within the past month
- People who have also been diagnosed with another breathing condition, such as asthma or bronchiectasis
- People who have previously had lung surgery
- People who have a bone, joint, nerve, or heart condition that affects their ability to exercise
- People who have high blood pressure or diabetes that is not well controlled
- People who have been diagnosed with cancer
