- People in the chronic sinusitis with nasal polyps group: those who have been diagnosed with nasal polyps in both nostrils, confirmed by a camera examination of the nose or a CT scan
- People in the severe asthma group: those with a clinical diagnosis of asthma where breathing tests show the lungs are working at less than 80% of expected capacity, AND either the lungs show a significant improvement after a breathing treatment, or a special breathing challenge test has confirmed airway sensitivity
- People in the eGPA group: those whose condition meets the 2022 international specialist criteria for eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis (a type of blood vessel inflammation) (confirm with trial site)
- People in the GPA group: those whose condition meets the 2022 international specialist criteria for granulomatosis with polyangiitis (another type of blood vessel inflammation) (confirm with trial site)
- People in the healthy control group: those who have no asthma symptoms and no signs of airway sensitivity on testing
Who may not be able to join:
- People who are unable to give informed consent
- People who have smoked within the last 6 months before their first study visit
- People who have used the medication dupilumab within the 6 months before their first study visit
- People who are currently pregnant or breastfeeding
- People in the chronic sinusitis with nasal polyps group: those who currently use asthma medication, or who have eGPA (the blood vessel condition mentioned above)
- People in the healthy control group: those who regularly use anti-inflammatory treatments applied directly to the body (such as steroid nasal sprays or inhalers)
- People in the healthy control group: those who use medications that suppress the immune system
- People in the healthy control group: those who have used antibiotics within the month before the study screening visit
