Who might be able to join this trial:
- Men aged 18 or older
- People whose doctor suspects they may have prostate cancer and has recommended a prostate biopsy
- People whose prostate-specific antigen (PSA) blood test result is below 20 ng/mL (a measure used to help detect prostate issues)
- People whose rectal examination suggests the cancer, if present, appears to be contained within the prostate gland
- People who are able to give written consent to participate
- People whose MRI scan of the prostate shows between 1 and 3 areas of concern, rated on a standard scoring scale (PI-RADS) between 3 and 5
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have had a prostate biopsy within the last 2 years
- People who have already been diagnosed with prostate cancer
- People for whom a prostate biopsy would be considered unsafe, such as those with an active urinary tract infection, certain physical conditions that prevent the procedure, uncorrectable blood clotting problems, or those taking blood-thinning medications that cannot be safely stopped beforehand (confirm with trial site)
- People who do not wish to have a biopsy
