Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You are between 3 and 70 years old (any gender or race).
  • A bone marrow test has confirmed you have acute B-cell lymphoblastic leukemia (a type of blood cancer) that has either come back after treatment (relapsed) or has not responded to treatment (refractory), meeting specific conditions about your treatment history.
  • If your leukemia is a type linked to the "Philadelphia chromosome" (Ph+ALL), you must have already tried at least 2 targeted therapies called TKIs, be unable to tolerate them, or have a specific gene mutation that makes TKIs unlikely to work — or have a medical reason not to use them.
  • At least 5% of your bone marrow cells are leukemia cells, and your cancer cells carry a protein called CD19 on their surface.
  • Your liver, kidneys, and blood clotting are working at acceptable levels (confirm with trial site for exact numbers).
  • Your heart is pumping blood effectively enough (at least 50% efficiency on an echo scan).
  • Your blood oxygen level is at least 92% when breathing normal air.
  • Doctors expect you to live for more than 3 months.
  • You are well enough to carry out basic daily activities (rated 0–2 on a standard activity scale).
  • If you are able to have children, you agree to use reliable contraception before, during, and for 6 months after treatment, and male participants agree not to donate sperm during the trial.

Who may not be able to join:

  • You have a rare inherited bone marrow condition such as Fanconi anemia, Kostmann syndrome, or Shwachman syndrome, or another known bone marrow failure disorder.
  • You have had a known allergic reaction to any ingredient in the cell therapy product used in this trial.
  • Your leukemia has spread to your central nervous system (brain and spinal cord) and is currently active.
  • Your leukemia has only come back in areas outside the bone marrow, with no bone marrow involvement.
  • You received a donor stem cell transplant within the past 3 months, or you have had a significant transplant rejection reaction (grade II–IV graft-versus-host disease) in the past 4 weeks.
  • You have had a serious heart problem in the past 12 months, such as a heart attack, severe heart failure, unstable chest pain, or certain abnormal heart rhythms.
  • You currently have a serious active infection that requires treatment through a drip/IV (not including simple urinary tract infections or bacterial throat infections).
  • You have or have had another type of cancer, unless it was a cured non-melanoma skin cancer, or certain early-stage cancers (such as cervical, prostate, or breast) that were fully treated at least 2 years ago with no return of disease.
  • You have an autoimmune disease being treated, an immune deficiency condition, or you need to take medicines that suppress your immune system.
  • You received a live vaccine within the past 4 weeks before joining the trial, or you plan to receive one during the trial.

Early Phase 1 studies are small, early exploratory studies that come before the main Phase 1 to 3 testing, so a standard phase success rate does not apply.
