Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are male or female, aged between 18 and 55 years old
- People who have previously had a reconstruction of the ACL (a ligament in the knee) on one knee within the last 5 years, where that surgery did not succeed as expected
- People who are already scheduled to have a second (revision) ACL reconstruction surgery, using any type of graft material
- People who are able to attend all study appointments and take part in a structured physiotherapy program
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have a history of inflammatory arthritis (such as rheumatoid arthritis) or a serious joint infection
- People who have had most or all of a meniscus (a piece of cartilage in the knee) removed, either before or at the same time as this study
- People who have had, or currently have, a condition where the bone in the affected knee loses its blood supply (avascular necrosis)
- People who have received steroid tablets or steroid injections into a joint within the past 3 months
- People who have received hyaluronic acid or platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections within the past 6 months
- People who are currently taking, or have taken within the past 2 months, any of the following medications: duloxetine, doxycycline, indomethacin, glucosamine, or chondroitin
- People who have a significant medical or test result abnormality that, in the opinion of the trial doctor, could affect their safety during the study (confirm with trial site)
- People who are already planning to have a knee replacement on the affected knee
