Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are older than 18 years of age
- People who have been diagnosed with severe, uncontrolled asthma according to recognised asthma guidelines, and who have not been hospitalised in the month before joining the study
- People whose sleep monitoring shows 15 or more episodes per hour where breathing stops or becomes shallow (this is a measure of sleep apnea severity)
- People who score 10 or below on the Epworth Sleepiness Scale, which is a standard questionnaire measuring daytime sleepiness

- People who have other sleep disorders, such as narcolepsy, restless leg syndrome, or chronic insomnia
- People with high blood pressure that has not responded to multiple medications (confirm with trial site)
- People who currently smoke
- People with unstable health conditions or who take medications that may interfere with asthma control
- People who are pregnant
- People with any condition that is expected to reduce life expectancy to less than one year
- People who have medical or personal circumstances that may make it difficult to use a CPAP machine consistently
