Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are over 18 years old
- People who have Barrett's esophagus (a condition affecting the lining of the food pipe) or gastro-esophageal cancer (cancer of the stomach or food pipe) that has not yet been treated, at any stage from I to IV
- Healthy volunteers who are willing to participate as a comparison group
- People who have given their written agreement to take part (or whose legal representative has done so) before any breath or blood samples are collected

- People who are under 18 years old
- People who currently have another active cancer (other than gastro-esophageal cancer)
- People who were treated for a different cancer less than 3 years ago

- People whose breath or blood samples are not of sufficient quality to be reliably analysed
- People who are currently incarcerated
