Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You have been diagnosed with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) using standard diagnostic guidelines

Who may not be able to join:

  • You are currently pregnant or breastfeeding

  • You have significant bronchiectasis (widened, damaged airways) or other active lung infections
  • You have been hospitalised two or more times in the past 12 months due to a lung infection or a sudden worsening of your COPD
  • You have a blood clotting disorder or a low platelet count
  • You have had a heart attack or serious heart failure within the past 24 weeks
  • You have previously had part of a lung removed, had lung volume reduction surgery, or received a lung transplant
  • You are on blood-thinning medication that cannot be safely stopped before a procedure
  • You have uncontrolled high blood pressure in the arteries of your lungs, or this condition was newly diagnosed within the past 12 weeks
  • A recent heart function test (within the last 12 weeks) showed your heart's pumping ability is below 45%
  • You have lung nodules that doctors have determined need treatment
  • You are currently taking part in another clinical trial
  • You have other medical conditions that make airway-related procedures unsuitable for you (confirm with trial site)
  • The research team considers you unsuitable for the trial for any other reason
