Who might be able to join this trial:
- Adults aged between 18 and 120 years old.
- People who have been diagnosed with lacunar stroke syndrome (a specific type of stroke caused by small vessel disease in the brain).
- People who have been newly or previously diagnosed with high blood pressure, diabetes, or both.
Who may not be able to join:
- People who are unable to make decisions for themselves may still be considered if a personal consultee (such as a close family member or friend) is able to consent on their behalf, and if the person is still physically able to perform a sit-to-stand movement as part of the study. People who cannot perform this movement AND do not have a personal consultee available to consent on their behalf are not able to take part.
- People who have poorly controlled health conditions that affect blood flow to the brain, such as heart failure.
