Main Study

  • People who are attending the Man Van mobile outreach clinic run by The Royal Marsden Hospital
  • People who are male and aged 45 or older

MV-POCT (Point-of-Care Testing sub-study)

  • People who are having a PSA (prostate-specific antigen) and/or blood sugar (HbA1c) test as part of their Man Van visit or through a related rapid diagnostics clinic

MV-QualQ, MV-Eco, and MV-PRS sub-studies

  • People who are attending the Man Van for an assessment; the MV-PRS sub-study also requires the ability to provide a saliva sample

MV-DNA sub-study

  • People who are attending the Man Van for an assessment and are able to provide a blood and/or saliva sample

MV-UctDNA sub-study

  • People who are attending the Man Van for an assessment and are able to provide a urine sample

MV-SSI sub-study (Survey)

  • People aged 18 or over who work for a healthcare organisation, another relevant organisation, or who are a potential Man Van patient who has not yet attended, or a relative of a Man Van patient or potential patient

MV-TPP sub-study (Healthcare Professionals)

  • Healthcare professionals aged 18 or over who speak English, work within the UK, and work as GPs, practice nurses, physician assistants or associates, or healthcare assistants, with experience in adopting new tests and guidelines, and experience in detecting, managing, and referring patients with or at increased risk of prostate, pancreatic, or bowel (GI) cancers

MV-TPP sub-study (Patients)

  • People aged 18 or over who speak English, live in the UK, and have direct or indirect experience with prostate, pancreatic, or bowel (GI) cancers, or are at increased risk of developing these cancers due to factors such as age, smoking, being overweight or obese, family history, genetic factors, pancreatitis, or diabetes

MV-TPP sub-study (Other Key Stakeholders/Professionals)

  • People aged 18 or over who speak English, work within the UK in roles such as medical devices, biomedical research, science, or major regulatory and funding bodies, and have knowledge of early cancer detection initiatives

Who may not be able to join:

MV-SSI sub-study

  • People who have already attended a Man Van appointment as a patient

MV-TPP sub-study (GPs and clinical staff)

  • People who are unwilling to take part
  • People with no experience adopting new cancer tests or guidelines into practice
  • People with no experience detecting, managing, or referring patients with cancer symptoms or increased cancer risk
  • People who do not have a sufficient understanding of spoken and written English

MV-TPP sub-study (Patients)

  • People who are unwilling to take part
  • People who do not have a sufficient understanding of spoken and written English
  • People who are unable to provide written and verbal consent
  • People with no direct or indirect lived experience with prostate, pancreatic, or bowel (GI) cancers

MV-TPP sub-study (Non-clinical stakeholders/professionals)

  • People who are unwilling to take part
  • People who are not familiar with cancer biomarkers and medical tests
  • People with no knowledge of early cancer detection
  • People who do not have a sufficient understanding of spoken and written English
