Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People aged between 18 and 60 years old
  • People who have been diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension (high blood pressure in the lungs), confirmed by a right heart catheterization test showing specific pressure and resistance readings
  • People with one of three specific types of pulmonary hypertension: Arterial Pulmonary Hypertension (PAH), pulmonary hypertension linked to lung disease, or Chronic Thromboembolic Pulmonary Hypertension (CTEPH), as classified by the World Health Organization
  • People who have not experienced fainting or warning signs of fainting during walking or physical activity
  • People who have not had serious heart rhythm problems during rest or exercise, such as certain dangerous irregular heartbeats or significant heart conduction problems
  • People whose medications and medication routine have been stable for at least 3 months before joining, and who have not taken part in any organised exercise training program for at least 3 months before screening
  • People who are comfortable and capable using smartphones and monitoring devices
  • People who are willing to sign a consent form agreeing to take part

Who may not be able to join:

  • People who also have venous thromboembolism (blood clots in the veins)
  • People who have had a recent acute pulmonary embolism (a sudden blood clot in the lungs)
  • People who experience chest pain or can only manage very low levels of physical activity (below 3 METs) during exercise or recovery (confirm with trial site)
  • People whose blood pressure or heart rhythm responds abnormally during exercise
  • People with severe mental health or cognitive (thinking and memory) conditions
  • People who are unable to exercise due to neurological (nervous system) or musculoskeletal (muscle or bone) problems
  • People with CTEPH who are planned to have a lung artery procedure or surgery within the next 6 months
  • People who have other serious ongoing illnesses, such as cancer, tuberculosis, an overactive thyroid, or severe depression
  • People who are pregnant
  • People who do not wish to sign the consent form
