Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are 65 years of age or older, or people who are between 60 and 64 years old and are either not suitable for a stem cell transplant or have chosen not to have one
- People who have not previously received any systemic (whole-body) treatment for their mantle cell lymphoma (MCL)
- People whose cancer has been confirmed as mantle cell lymphoma through a tissue biopsy test, showing specific markers (Cyclin D1 and/or a particular chromosome change called t(11;14))
- People whose cancer is at a moderate to advanced stage (Modified Ann Arbor stage II through to stage IV), where stage II patients must require systemic treatment as determined by their doctor
- People who have at least one area of measurable disease — meaning a lymph node larger than 1.5 cm or a lesion outside the lymph nodes larger than 1.0 cm
- People with a general health status score of 0, 1, or 2 on the ECOG scale, meaning they are fully active or able to carry out light activity (confirm with trial site)
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have had another type of cancer in the past, unless there has been no sign of that cancer returning or spreading for at least two years before entering the trial
- People who have significant digestive system problems that could affect how a tablet or capsule is absorbed by the body, or people who have had their entire stomach surgically removed
- People whose reason for treatment is to reduce the size of their cancer before going on to have a stem cell transplant
- People who have taken certain strong medications known to significantly interact with a liver enzyme called CYP3A within a specific time period before starting the trial, or who plan to take such medications during the trial (confirm with trial site for specific medications)
- People whose lymphoma has spread to the central nervous system (the brain or spinal cord)
