Who might be able to join this trial:
- You must be 18 years of age or older
- You must have been diagnosed with acute pancreatitis, which is confirmed by at least two of the following: typical severe stomach pain, blood test results showing certain digestive enzymes (amylase or lipase) are more than three times higher than normal, or medical scans showing signs of pancreatitis
- You must have confirmed or suspected infected tissue death (necrosis) around your pancreas, and be scheduled for an open surgical procedure to remove that dead tissue
- You must meet the medical criteria for a serious infection response in the body known as "Sepsis-3" (confirm with trial site)
Who may not be able to join:
- You are not able to join if you do not wish to participate
- You may not be able to join if you are having a repeat surgery on the same area that was previously operated on
