Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are 18 years of age or older
- You have been diagnosed with primary epithelial ovarian cancer (a specific type of ovarian cancer), including cancers of the fallopian tubes or peritoneum (the lining of the abdomen), confirmed by a tissue or fluid sample
- You have stage III or IV ovarian cancer and are planning to receive chemotherapy before surgery (including if you had a diagnostic procedure or an incomplete surgery)
- You have stage III or IV ovarian cancer and have already had surgery to remove the tumour, and are now receiving chemotherapy
- You have ovarian cancer that has come back and will be treated with platinum-based chemotherapy (a common type of chemotherapy)
- You have already had chemotherapy, followed by surgery, and are now due to receive further chemotherapy after the operation
- Your cancer can be any type within the epithelial ovarian cancer group
- You have normal cognitive function (your thinking and understanding are not impaired)
Who may not be able to join:
- You are under 18 years of age
- You have a blockage in your bowel (partial or complete) that has been confirmed by a scan
- You are unable to give informed consent (agree to take part in the study yourself)
- Your BMI (a measure of body weight relative to height) is below 18
- You have been assessed by a dietitian as having severe malnutrition
- You have Type 1 diabetes and use insulin
- You do not have a CT scan of your abdomen and pelvis taken before treatment, or your scan was taken more than 4–6 weeks before your first chemotherapy session
