Who might be able to join this trial:

• People who have been diagnosed with a stroke (either a bleed in the brain or a blockage of blood flow) by a qualified doctor.
• People whose stroke happened within the last three months.
• People whose arm muscle strength is rated at 4 points or below on a standard medical muscle strength scale.
• People with no previous history of stroke, epilepsy, dementia, Parkinson's disease, or other diseases that affect the nervous system over time.
• People who are able to sit upright in a chair for more than 15 minutes.
• People aged 18 or older.

Who may not be able to join:

• People who have had more than one stroke, a brain injury, a brain tumour, a spinal cord injury, Parkinson's disease, or other conditions affecting the muscles or skeleton that could interfere with assessment or treatment.
• People for whom focused ultrasound treatment is not safe, including those who are pregnant, have a pacemaker or other implanted medical device, have certain connective tissue diseases, have blood clotting problems, have implants near or in the brain, or are considered unsuitable by their doctor.
• People who cannot cooperate with treatment or assessments due to reduced consciousness or difficulty with speech, or who are unable to give informed consent.
• People whose skull structure would prevent the ultrasound from passing through to the brain (confirm with trial site).
• People taking blood-thinning medications who also have blood clotting problems based on specific lab results.
• People for whom a CT scan would not be safe or suitable.
• People with major physical illnesses or significant neurological conditions, such as epilepsy or a history of brain surgery.
• People who have any metal implants in their body.
• People currently taking tricyclic antidepressants, certain pain medications, or anti-seizure medications.
• People who experience sleep problems during the ultrasound treatment sessions.
• People with a history of alcohol dependency.
• People with severe or uncontrollable high pressure in the brain.
• People who require ongoing blood-thinning medication.
• People with any growth or abnormal mass inside the skull.
• People whose pre-treatment CT scan shows significant calcium build-up in the blood vessels of the brain.
• People who have wounds or skin damage on the scalp in the area where the treatment would be applied.
