Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are 18 years old or older
- People who are currently experiencing breathing or respiratory symptoms
- People who complete a questionnaire called the UCAP-Q and receive a score showing at least a 6% chance of having asthma or COPD
- People who have signed a written consent form agreeing to take part in the trial, following local rules and regulations
- People who are able to complete a breathing test (called spirometry) both before and after taking a medication that opens the airways
- For the randomised controlled part of the trial: people whose spirometry results show an undiagnosed airflow problem, which may indicate asthma or COPD
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have already been diagnosed with asthma, COPD, lung cancer, bronchiectasis, interstitial lung disease, cystic fibrosis, or another significant lung condition
- People who are currently under the care of a lung specialist (respirologist)
- People who are currently using inhaled corticosteroid or long-acting bronchodilator medications
- People who have had a heart attack, stroke, aortic or brain aneurysm, detached retina, or eye surgery within the past 3 months, as the breathing test may not be safe in these cases
- People who are in the third trimester of pregnancy
- People who are currently taking part in another interventional clinical trial
