Breast Cancer Group

Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You are between 18 and 75 years old
  • You have been diagnosed with breast cancer that required chemotherapy
  • You finished chemotherapy within the last 6 months
  • You are willing to take part in 3 online exercise sessions per week
  • You are able to swallow and take oral medications (pills/capsules)
  • You are willing and able to give your consent to take part in the study
  • Your kidneys are functioning at an adequate level, based on a recent blood test (confirm with trial site)

Who may not be able to join:

  • You have a physical condition that limits or prevents you from exercising safely (confirm with trial site)
  • Your blood pressure is poorly controlled and above 160/95 mmHg
  • You have smoked or used tobacco within the last 6 months
  • You currently use anabolic steroids
  • You have significant fluid-related swelling in your limbs (confirm with trial site)
  • You are currently receiving chemotherapy for cancer
  • You have a moderate to severe heart condition or a lung condition that makes it hard to breathe climbing one flight of stairs or less
  • You are pregnant or planning to become pregnant during the study
  • You have used steroid medications (other than short-term use during chemotherapy) or appetite-stimulating medications within the last month, or plan to during the study
  • Your kidneys are not functioning at the required level, based on a blood test (confirm with trial site)
  • You are currently taking creatine supplements
  • You do not have access to a smartphone and/or the internet

Healthy Control Group

Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You are between 18 and 75 years old
  • You have never been diagnosed with cancer
  • You are willing and able to give your consent to take part in the study

Who may not be able to join:

  • You have a physical condition that limits or prevents you from exercising safely (confirm with trial site)
  • Your blood pressure is poorly controlled and above 160/95 mmHg
  • You have smoked or used tobacco within the last 6 months
  • You currently use anabolic steroids
  • You have significant fluid-related swelling in your limbs (confirm with trial site)
  • You have a history of any cancer diagnosis
  • You have a moderate to severe heart condition or a lung condition that makes it hard to breathe climbing one flight of stairs or less
  • You are pregnant or currently taking hormonal medications to prepare for pregnancy (such as IVF-related hormone therapy)
  • You have used steroid medications within the last month
  • You have used appetite-stimulating or appetite-suppressing medications within the last month
  • Your kidneys are not functioning at the required level, based on a blood test (confirm with trial site)
  • You have been diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder, or a screening questionnaire suggests you may have it, or you have a neurological disorder
  • You have uncontrolled diabetes (based on a specific blood sugar level test result) (confirm with trial site)
  • You are currently taking creatine supplements
  • You do not have access to a smartphone and/or the internet
