Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are aged 18 years or older but under 65 years old at the start of the study
- People who have been diagnosed with ulcerative colitis (UC) that is moderately to severely active, and whose doctor has prescribed them a medicine called etrasimod for this condition
- People who have read and signed a consent form, showing they have been told about all important aspects of the study (a legal representative may sign on their behalf if needed)
Who may not be able to join:
- People whose symptoms or test results suggest they may have Crohn's disease rather than ulcerative colitis
- People whose doctor believes they are likely to need hospitalisation for a medical or surgical procedure related to their UC (such as bowel surgery) within the next 12 weeks
- People who currently show signs of a very serious UC flare-up, including conditions known as acute severe UC, fulminant colitis, or toxic megacolon (confirm with trial site)
- People who have already had a stoma (a surgically created opening in the abdomen) or who have a planned UC surgery that would require a hospital stay
- People who have previously taken etrasimod, or who have taken part in any clinical study involving etrasimod
- People who are currently also taking certain other medicines alongside etrasimod, including methotrexate, azathioprine, mercaptopurine, or tioguanine
- People who are currently also taking certain other advanced UC treatments, including biologic medicines (such as TNF blockers, integrin blockers, or cytokine blockers), specific medicines called JAK inhibitors (filgotinib, tofacitinib, or upadacitinib), or any other medicine in the same class as etrasimod (S1P receptor modulators)
- People who are unwilling or unable to download and use a web-based tool on a personal device to complete regular health questionnaires
- Staff members at the research site or Pfizer employees who are directly involved in running the study, staff supervised by the study investigator, and their immediate family members
