- Adults (18 years or older) who are having breast cancer surgery, such as removal of the whole breast or part of it, with or without removal of lymph nodes, under general anaesthesia
Who may not be able to join:
- People under 18 years of age
- People who do not wish to take part
- People who are currently using opioid-based pain medicines (such as morphine or similar drugs), for any reason, including long-term cancer pain management
- People who have difficulty communicating in the Greek language
- People who have a known allergy to any of the medicines used in the trial
- People with serious heart rhythm problems or other significant heart conditions
- People with severe liver or kidney failure
- People living with dementia, a psychiatric condition, or who have cognitive (thinking or memory) difficulties before the operation
